had the Gravner Ribolla 2000 pre amphora. Beautiful floral nose with a bit of hazelnut and carmelization. Fruit was there but not pronounced. Balanced but more mineral and rich mouth feel than fruit. An amazing wine that is surprizing in it's purity.

Tried the Il Carpino ($22.99) tonight with my wife's homemade wonton soup. Not my style, but worth trying.

Burnished orange/gold color, obvious and intriguing whiskey taste with a note of of ginger (which made the pairing with Chinese food seem good on paper). Not much fruit and a lackluster nose, however. -- Mark
