The September Wine Blogging Wednesday theme is "Go Native" where the idea is to pick a region and drink a wine made from a grape indigenous to that region (preferably a less well known a grape.) The Gaglioppo sounds like a good candidate. I was thinking of trying Gavi made from the Cortese grape. Do you know if that is indigenous to the Piedmont region of Italy?

Thanks for the post and intro to this grape. Learning about and tasting these obscure varieties is a great part of the fun of wine drinking.
Another good source of info: Nicolas Belfarge's "Brunello to Zibibbo" pp 308-314
